I can't believe Excel and PowerPoint could do this much.

Even more unbelievable *I* could do this much with them.

So last month, I signed up for a 4-day training named "Creating Better Stories with Your Data" and it took place this past week. As a person who just loves playing with data (and whose boss often praises for her data analysis and decision making), I was stunned and impressed by what I got to learn this week. Kudos to Maz Mat Hassan for her effective lessons and hands-on approach and to ICT@Johor for inviting the right person to do the job!

I came in Day 1 thinking my skills were already f i n e (like ~65%), and I just planned to learn a bit more to be better at 'em. I mean, I passed LinkedIn Skill Assessment for Excel like years ago?

Oh boy, the amount of knowledge I gained from this training made me think that 65% was probably just 45%. I think I doubled my skills upon finishing the training.

I particularly like how I can now do a 'live' dashboard that self refreshes as there are changes in the source database. This is super relevant to my job as I handle a lot of data, which changes almost everyday. The next best thing is how I can cheat my way into having a consistent and beautiful colour scheme on PowerPoint using colours of MY choice (sorry I don't fancy theirs :/). I used to do this differently. And the whole data visualisation part got me levelled up! Skip to Picture 4 to see how people might mistake me for a pro? This is like one of those sophisticated corporate or government level visuals? I am so proud of myself for this achievement!

I can't possibly share everything here so I'd let the pictures do the talking!

Overall I would say this training changes my life!

P.s.: The training comprises 3 courses:

1) Fundamental of Using Excel for Data Analytics

2) Data Visualisation and Pivot Table

3) Persuasive Data Storytelling
